'Tis the Season!

‘Tis the Season!

We may not be enjoying our typical winter wonderland this December in Calgary, but the wonder of the season seems to still be strong. Christmas trees are appearing in neighbourhood windows one by one as the season progresses, homes are erupting in outdoor twinkling Christmas lights on trees, roof edges and more. Indoors Christmas baking has begun, maybe even some gift wrapping in front of the television, next to a crackling fireplace, Christmas music and movies in the background. Plans are being made for the holidays, and Christmas lists are slowly getting tackled. The more likely reality is that days are busy, work is full, kids are busy finishing up assignments and exams, the countdown has started, and the days just don’t seem long enough. Thus, it’s the perfect time of year to take a moment and enjoy what this season has to offer.

Even without the snow, although we hear it’s way, Christmas time is a beautiful moment in our year where we get to dress up our homes, add decorations and put up a Christmas tree (or two), enjoy the neighbourhood lights and spend time with family and friends. More important than the shopping and the gifts under the tree, traditions and family gatherings and the true meaning of this time of year should always be top of mind. In whatever form this time of year takes in your home, we wish you a very happy holiday season.

It’s hard to believe we’re less than two weeks away to the big day! Our wonder-filled Christmas Store has been busy. Trees of all sorts, fun and sparkly ornaments and loads of Christmas décor, gifts and plants, workshop creations and hopefully lots of good cheer have left our doors. We still have plenty to offer so we look forward to seeing the rest of you soon. Also keep note, that this year the 1st Airdrie Scouts are looking to help you recycle your Christmas tree. Sign up on their website at www.1stAirdrieScouts.com to have your tree collected in Airdrie on December 30-31st and January 6-7th; all they’re asking in return is a donation to help fund and support their programs.

From all of us at Blue Grass we wish you a safe and happy holiday season!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
